You went to bed early. You got a full night's sleep. Maybe you even had a lazy weekend. And you still woke up feeling completely drained. Sound familiar?
If that's you, I get it. Sometimes the kind of tired we feel goes a lot deeper than sleep can fix. (And of course, if you're exhausted all the time, check in with your doctor too.) What I want to talk about here is the energetic side of it, because it gets overlooked so often.
So here are five things that could be going on.
1. Your energy field is leaking
I talk about this one all the time because it's so important. We all have access to life force energy, and there's really an infinite amount of it. It's pouring into our energy field all the time. The question is whether your field can actually hold it.
If your energy field has rips, holes, leaks, and tears in it, that life force runs right back out. It's like pouring water into a bucket with a hole in the bottom. You can pour all day long, and it'll never fill up. That's why rest alone doesn't fix it. The life force is there. Your field just can't hold onto it.
2. You're carrying other people's stuff
If you're someone who feels everything, you're probably soaking up other people's moods and stress without even realizing it. You sit through a tense meeting, or spend the afternoon with someone who's upset, or scroll through the news for too long, and you bring all of it home with you. And if you're already carrying the same kind of heaviness they are, it's even easier for their energy to jump right over to you. That's a lot to carry, especially when it's not even yours!
3. Your emotions are getting stuck
Your energy field is supposed to help your emotions move up and out, so you can feel them and let them go. But when there are blockages, they don't move the way they're supposed to. They get stuck, and they build up. And carrying all of that around is exhausting, even when you're not thinking about it.
4. Life has left its fingerprints
Think about everything you've been through. The hard conversations, the losses, the big changes, all the everyday stress. Every one of those leaves an imprint in your energy field, kind of like fingerprints on a mirror. One doesn't seem like much. But after years of them building up, it gets harder and harder to see yourself.
5. Your energy isn't moving
Energy is supposed to flow. When it gets stuck and stagnant, everything starts to feel sluggish. Your body, your mood, your motivation. It's kind of like a river that's been dammed up. The water's still there, it just isn't going anywhere.
So where do you start?
Start by paying attention. When do you feel the most drained? After certain people? Certain places? Just noticing the pattern tells you so much. And when a heavy feeling comes out of nowhere, ask yourself if it's even yours.
Getting outside helps too. Fresh air, a little sunshine, a walk. And after a hard day, give yourself a few quiet minutes to breathe and let the day go before you move on to the next thing.
But if you've been running on empty for a long time, it's time to look at the energy field itself. That's exactly why I created the 4-Step Energy Reset. We repair your energy field first, then get your energy flowing again, clear out what you've been carrying, and go deeper from there. It's how we go from drained to strong and protected.
